Registration is underway for Holy Savior Catholic Church and Academy's fifth annual Red & Black Banquet.
The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 13 at the Wichita Marriott, 9100 E. Corporate Hills Drive. The banquet is a celebration of Holy Savior, which was established in 1948. The theme for this year's banquet is "Celebrating 70 Years; Celebrating a New Beginning." Holy Savior recently started construction of its new church and school buildings. Construction is scheduled to be complete in the Fall of 2019.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the program begins at 7 p.m. This year's event will include a dinner, live and silent auctions and choir performances. This year's speakers will be: Fr. Jim Billinger, pastor of Holy Savior Parish; Dr. Delia Shropshire, principal of Holy Savior Catholic Academy; and Bishop Carl Kemme of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita. The keynote speaker will be HSCA parent Cortney Holloway, who was the victim of a workplace shooting in Wichita in 2017.
