More than 300 people attended Holy Savior's 13th Annual Red & Black Banquet, held October 10 at the Wichita Marriott. The benefit event raised nearly $110,000 -- the most in the event's history -- to support the work of Holy Savior Catholic Church and Academy.

Susan Peters served as emcee for the evening.  The event featured keynote speaker Andrew Carney, a seminarian from Holy Savior, who shared the story of his faith journey.  A graduate of Holy Savior Catholic Academy and Kapaun Mt. Carmel High School, Carney is in his second year at St. Philip Neri Seminary in Wichita. Highlights included music from the HSCA Children's Choir -- including a special song by Fr. Adam Grelinger with the children. The church Men's Choir and Gospel Choir also performed.

Charlie Moon led the live auction, which helped to raise the record amount for the benefit event.  Thanks to donations raised at both last year's banquet and this year's event, and a matching gift provided by the Dolly Snyder Charitable Foundation, Fr. Grelinger announced that Holy Savior would soon begin work on a playground for the school.

Holy Savior thanks all of those who helped to make the 13th Annual Red & Black Banquet such a tremendous success.
